In this context, October 6 Technological University and the Electronics Research Institute signed a cooperation protocol with the aim of strengthening cooperation relations between the two parties in the academic, scientific, research and technological fields, as well as developing the applied skills of university students.
The protocol was signed by Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader Muharram, Head of the Electronics Research Institute, and Dr. Heba Farouk Salem, President of October 6 Technological University, in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Bilal, Vice President of the University, and Dr. Muhammad Dergham, Dean of the Faculty of Industry and Energy Technology at the university, and Dr. Mahmoud Salem, acting head of the High Energy and Energy Transformation Department and supervisor of technical and administrative affairs at the Institute, and Dr. Mahmoud Fakhr, acting head of the Computers and Systems Department and supervisor of the scientific departments and general administration of the central laboratories at the institute, and Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim, Assistant Professor, Department of High Energy and Energy Transformation, Institute.
In accordance with the terms of the protocol, the two parties agreed to cooperate on providing training opportunities for students of October 6 University of Technology in the electronics research institute laboratories, by organizing summer schools for practical training for university students. With the aim of qualifying them for the labor market by developing their applied technical skills, as well as developing their research and innovation skills,
Dr. Shereen Muharram said that the cooperation and training protocol comes within the implementation of the axes of the Institute's strategic plan, noting that it aims to exchange scientific, academic and technical knowledge, pointing out that the Institute provides hosting service for university applications and systems in the Institute's data center, as well as training students on cloud computing and its applications.The President of the Electronics Research Institute added that the cooperation and training protocol includes academic exchange between the two parties, including mutual visits of faculty and research staff members; To follow up on research and give lectures, in addition to the participation of members of the Institute's research staff in developing the university's curricula, especially those related to electronics and information technology, which contributes to obtaining a graduate who possesses the skills that qualify him for the needs of the labor market.On her part, Dr. Heba Farouk expressed her admiration for the technical and human capabilities of the institute and the distinguished central laboratories, noting that the areas of protocol cooperation include the exchange of technical, technical, economic and investment expertise to implement joint projects, in addition to recording the results of research and projects, whether in scientific journals or patents, according to the nature of the results of these projects. The President of October 6 Technological University confirmed that the protocol includes cooperation in supervising a number of startups and entrepreneurs at the Institute and the activities of the Institute's Science City. With the aim of converting their outputs into industrial products that are produced and marketed in cooperation between the two parties, as well as applied technical training for university students on the distinguished laboratories located in the institute.On the sidelines of the protocol signing ceremony, Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader, a delegation from the 6th of October Technological University, headed by Dr. Heba Farouk on an inspection tour of the central laboratories of the Institute, including: the printed electronic circuits manufacturing laboratory, the electronic waste recycling laboratory, the millimeter wave measurement laboratory, the specific absorption rate measurement laboratory, the modeling and designs laboratory, the electronic circuits manufacturing laboratory in radio frequencies, the lithium batteries manufacturing laboratory Ion, material analysis laboratory, in addition to visiting the Virtual Reality Tourism Laboratory.
The inspection tour also included a visit to the institute's research products exhibition, which includes a number of research products, including: a solar energy converter with a capacity of 10 kilowatts, the Egyptian-Chinese Joint Renewable Energy Laboratory, an Egyptian system for smart agriculture, and a biosensor for detecting viruses and bacteria in biological samples, Smart meters, LED lights, 3D printing, and a prototype of the electric lithium battery used in new and renewable energy applications.
For their part, the university delegation praised the distinguished capabilities and equipment at the Electronics Research Institute, and the services provided by the institute that meet the training and industry needs.
