Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research browsed a reported by Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader Muharram, President of the Electronics Research Institute, about the institute’s signing of a cooperation protocol with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development; To develop the institute's digital transformation system.
The report stated that the protocol aims to implement several axes, most notably, the development of the information skills and capabilities of workers and researchers, the development of the technological infrastructure of the Institute, the localization of correspondence systems between the various departments and sections of the Institute, as well as the localization and application of the electronic archiving system in accordance with the foundations and standards agreed upon in the National Program for Archiving. Documents and documents for government agencies moving to the new administrative capital, and completing the rest of the components of the ERP systems So that all documents and documents are dealt with electronically, as well as standardizing the codes used across all systems.
The report indicated that the signing of the protocol came in implementation of one of the axes of the institute’s strategic plan, which is the development of work systems and administrative and institutional development, which requires focusing on the process of digital transformation of the work environment at the institute. To contribute to providing an enabling environment for science, technology and innovation.
Dr. Sherine said that the aim of signing the protocol with the Ministry of Planning is to obtain support and technical and logistical advice, as well as to localize the institute’s digital transformation systems, which would contribute significantly to more governance of the institute’s work systems, and to qualify workers from the public cadre in line with the desired development requirements.
She pointed out that the institute has an infrastructure that qualifies it for hosting the systems and websites of various government agencies; It is characterized by its possession of scientific expertise and cadres in the various fields of electronics and information technology.
The report pointed to the agreement between the two sides to conduct an evaluation of some of the institute's current systems, study the extent to which they can be benefited, and the mechanisms of integration with the rest of the systems agreed to be implemented, as well as developing a tight time plan to complete the digital transformation process at the institute.
The protocol was signed by Engineer Ashraf Abdel Hafeez, Assistant Minister of Planning and Economic Development, and Dr. Sherine Abdelkader, President of the Electronics Research Institute.
