Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, received a report submitted by Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader Muharram, Acting President of the Electronics Research Institute, about the signing of a tripartite cooperation protocol today, Wednesday, between the Institute, the Industrial Modernization Center and Siraj Lighting Company.

This comes within the framework of mutual and fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research represented by the Electronics Research Institute, and the Ministry of Trade and Industry represented by the Industrial Modernization Center.

Dr.Sherine said that the protocol comes within the framework of the national role played by the Electronics Research Institute as a house of expertise in the field of electronics industry in Egypt, and the strategic role of the Industrial Modernization Center, which represents a turning point in the local industry, stressing that the protocol includes contributing to the development of LED headlights and increasing their lifespan. Saving energy using advanced technologies that increase its efficiency, cooperating in the production of printed electronic circuits (PCB), adapting renewable energy sources and using them in the production of energy-saving headlights, in addition to finding innovative solutions for the smart lighting system, as well as cooperating in promoting community services through Qualifying engineering students for the labor market.

For his part, Engineer Mohamed Abdel Karim, Executive Director of the Industrial Modernization Center, expressed his happiness for signing the cooperation protocol, which in its content represents one of the most important messages that the Industrial Modernization Center has been working on in recent years, which is linking the industrial community to scientific research and academic outputs in Egypt, which comes In line with the priorities of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research within the framework of Egypt’s Vision for Sustainable Development 2030; With the aim of linking scientific research to the needs of the state and society by creating a stimulating environment for the localization and production of knowledge, as well as activating and developing an integrated national system for innovation that works to exploit the applications and outputs of scientific research.

In his speech, Nabil Youssef, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Siraj Industrial Company, indicated that the protocol comes within the framework of the company's desire to develop architectural lighting technology, and work on the presence of an Egyptian product that competes in the current markets, through cooperation with the Electronics Research Institute, pointing out that the company has participated in a major National projects that show the authentic Egyptian landmarks with the quality of architectural lighting.
