Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, affirmed the Ministry’s keenness to support cooperation between institutes, research centers, and industrial and technological bodies. To transform scientific research into existing products, pointing to Egypt’s interest in developing electronics as a vital field that contributes to maximizing the Egyptian economy.
He pointed out that Egypt has a clear plan to support science, technology and innovation, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
The Electronics Research Institute signed a memorandum of understanding with Huawei. To cooperate in the field of capacity building, through the establishment of an ICT Academy ERI-Huawei ICT Tech Academy, with the aim of supporting and developing the capabilities of young people by transferring technological knowledge, and training trainers from the Electronics Research Institute by high-level international experts from Huawei on the latest technology fields such as Computing, big data, 5G and more.
Through the memorandum of understanding, Huawei also accredits the Electronics Research Institute as a government partner of the Huawei Cloud Startups Programme, with the aim of providing the necessary support and training to entrepreneurs and developing their skills. To obtain opportunities to represent Egypt at the regional and global level, create added value for them, and encourage accredited and qualified startups to join the Huawei Cloud Startups Program, which accelerates the growth of startups, by providing technical and technological support, in addition to Free access to Huawei cloud solutions, as well as providing ICT infrastructure, which plays an essential role in serving startups and transforming innovative ideas into successful projects.
